The Legend of Bassani

For over five decades, one name has defined the sound of American V-twin performance: Bassani.

Founded in 1969 by Darryl Bassani, Bassani Xhaust grew from one man's obsession with unlocking a motorcycle's true potential into one of the most respected names in high-performance exhaust. Darryl wasn't just building parts — he was chasing something more elusive: the perfect harmony of power, performance, and that deep, unmistakable tone you could recognize from a block away.

A true pioneer, Darryl helped shape the modern performance exhaust industry from the ground up. Over the decades, he and his team engineered systems for elite competitors across NASCAR, NHRA, IMSA, and AMA racing — track-proven expertise that flowed directly into every V-twin system that left the shop. His innovations, from equal-length true-dual designs to the acoustically tuned baffles Bassani is known for, set benchmarks the industry still measures against.

But Darryl's real legacy was the bond he built with riders. Bassani pipes became the go-to choice for Harley-Davidson enthusiasts who demanded real performance and refused to settle for anything less than that signature Bassani sound. His passion, his craftsmanship, and — anyone who knew him would add — his trademark mustache, made him an icon of the V-twin world.

Darryl Bassani was inducted into the Trailblazers Hall of Fame in 2009 and honored by the Hot Shoe Hall of Fame for his contributions to the sport he loved. He passed away in February 2024 at the age of 80, but the sound he created still rumbles down every road where a Bassani-equipped bike fires up.

A New Chapter

Every legend deserves to live on.

By late 2025, the company that carried Darryl's name had fallen silent. The doors were closed and the future of Bassani was uncertain — and for the riders who'd trusted these pipes for decades, it felt like the end of an era.

It wasn't.

Bassani Xhaust has been saved and revitalized under the ownership of Epsilon Electronics — the parent company behind respected performance audio brands including Soundstream and Precision Power. Recognizing that Bassani was too important to the V-twin community to disappear, Epsilon brought the brand back to life, relocating operations from its longtime home in Anaheim, California to a new facility in Cerritos, California.

Our mission is simple: honor everything Darryl built while carrying his legacy forward for the next generation of riders. The classic designs riders know and trust are back and ready to ship, alongside renewed availability, consistent production, and continued innovation.

And just as they always have been, Bassani systems are proudly made in the U.S.A. — hand-built in California with the same commitment to craftsmanship, performance, and that unmistakable Bassani sound that Darryl demanded from day one.

The pipes that changed the sound of American V-twin performance are rolling off the line once again. The spirit of Bassani is alive and roaring.
